On my way to oysters and cocktails on Friday night, I happened upon Billiardsburg's first new addition of 2011-- Midway Bar on Grand Street near Roebling.  Boy was I almost excited!  Owned by the same guys as Ontario Bar, Midway's got the same dark, hipster-seedy ambience, only with a backroom with large booths, "games", and a pool table slapped diagonally in the center.  In the same way that Alligator Lounge can't accomodate a pool table, it's looking like this place may face a similar problem.  Though Midway hasn't received the full Billiardsburg evaluation, something tells me I'll be sticking to the perfectly reliable and friendly Maracuja (located directly across the street) if I'm ever looking to get a game in on that stretch of Grand Street.  We'll see!
